The staple playsuit

Just like to apologise for my lack of posting recently, the weather has been awful so I thought I'd post this outfit which I actually took when the sun was shining a few weeks ago.

So as the weather was getting warmer, I thought it'd be appropriate to show off this gorgeous pink cross over playsuit which I actually bought last year. Usually I like to post new things but this cross over, loose kind of style has been brought back so much this year with inlovewithfashion.com absolutely nailing the look. I also wanted to show my new monochrome boots in a different style to how I posted them with my leather panel dress here as that was more of a casual, wintery look whereas this is more appropriate for spring/summer.

This is my got-to jacket as I imagine a leather jacket is with everyone! I featured this jacket in my 'never enough black' post at the start of the month if anyone's interested. I picked this up from New Look last year but the biker jacket is just repeated again and again and I'll feature some similar styles below.

My lipstick is Kate Moss for Rimmel in shade 20 if anyone is interested.

Wear red lipstick and don't let the boys be mean to you...

Red is the colour that never goes out, it always looks fab and is definitely a woman's colour. This longline blazer coat is from Next and is one of my favourite coats I've seen this season in this style. Its not too heavy but is thick enough to keep you warm, especially in this transition stage between cold and warm weather where you never know what to wear! I thought I'd add my New Look red platform shoes as these barely leave my house despite me loving them so much. They're actually really comfortable despite being so high, but the platform sort of equals out the height so your not walking on too much of a precipitate! Unfortunately they've stopped doing these in red, but I will link a few similar platform styles in different colours below.
My blouse and trousers are from Topshop and are my go-to pieces for Sixth Form as they're just so easy. This blouse I got quite a while ago but the bold print keeps it in season.
This is quite a chic outfit because of the style of the coat, definitely keep your eyes out for this style going into Spring!

Coat - Next
Top - Topshop (a while ago)
Trousers - Topshop
Shoes - New Look (similar here, here and here)
Bag - Peacocks

My not-so-successful shopping trip

So on Friday, I took a trip to the Trafford Centre in Manchester to top up my spring wardrobe. I went with the intention of getting so many pastel coloured things and to buy loads of new things for the upcoming sunny months.....but yanno when you actually have money to spend and go to a huge shopping centre with loads of choice, and then you find like nothing? Well that happened! So I haven't yet got the spring wardrobe I would like, but I've made a good start!
These are just a few photos to create a sort of diary for my day out. I apologise for the not so great quality of some of the photos, these were taken on my not so great iPhone camera as I didn't take the big professional camera. This post also introduces my twin sister Laura who is also the person behind the camera on all of my photos.
So to start...here's a typical touristy photo outside 'The Great Hall' to show you mine and my sister's outfits...

I walked past Dorothy Perkins' window and just HAD to go in, the colours and clothes were just perfect. A very pastel vibe was created and I thought I would take a photo to show you all...

We went to an Italian restaurant called Pesto which I've never been to before but the food and wine were loooovely. You could choose 3 mini dishes from a menu so you could try different foods all in 1 go. I admitted defeat on some of them though as there was just too much food!

So here are a few of my purchases from the day (I also bought a light pink biker jacket)... and as you can see there is nothing remotely pastel coloured but the patterns on the top and trousers do remind me of summer! I also bought this make-up brush and bronzer from H&M as I actually find cheaper powder bronzer to be so much better than expensive branded ones. These things and my biker jacket will be blogged soon!

Hope you've all had a good week.

Jump for joy

Following my H&M fluffy cardigan is this lovely H&M bomber jacket in a paisley/floral print, again perfect for spring fashion. Bomber jackets are so in at the moment and I just love the laid-back, casual style of them which makes them easy to go with any outfit. I have teamed mine with this River Island cross-over jumpsuit which is one of my fave styles. The gold detail on the belt just adds to the jumpsuit so its not completely plain black. I'm really into jumpsuits at the moment as they compliment any figure and look so effortless.

I've worn my trusty Primark courts as I love the patent finish and pointy shoes are among my favourites this year. They look so classy, and these were only £10!!
My sunglasses are Raybans and my earrings are Topshop from a while ago, they are literally the only pair of statement gold earrings I own, definitely need to invest in some more.

Jumpsuit - River Island
(unfortunately they've stopped stocking this specific jumpsuit but they have similar here and here)

Spring vibes

As the sun was shining today I thought I'd create a more pastel coloured outfit to fit in with the spring vibes and brighten up my blog a bit. So my mom treated me to this gorgeous H&M fluffy cardigan in a cream/white colour and I instantly fell in love with it and just had to feature it on here and put it with all kinds of outfits, as you do when you get something new! I decided to style it with this gorgeous Topshop mini skirt which has been hanging in my wardrobe for a while waiting to see the sun. I love the pink/peach colour and felt it'd go so well with the white/creams of this outfit. The A Line style and colour of this skirt are everywhere so I will feature a few of my favourites below.

Ofcourse my Topshop courts had to be used in a white based outfit as they just make anything look so classy. I decided to keep the top nice and simple with this Dorothy Perkins strappy blouse to let the skirt and  cardigan take centre stage.

My earrings are from New Look and similar styles are around everywhere at the moment. My necklace is Forever 21 from a while ago but the simplicity of the style allows it to be worn with any outfit.

Cardigan - H&M
Heels - Topshop
Blouse - Dorothy Perkins (similar here)
Skirt - Topshop, a while ago but I've managed to find a few similar skirts which I am loving atm:

Cheetah print nails

I must admit I do love a bit of nail art but I barely ever had the time, but this morning I had a spare hour and thought I'd show you how I created these cheetah print nails as it couldn't be simpler.
1. Firstly paint your base layer, you could use almost any colour for this. You could use the typical gold/browns of a cheetah, or go a bit funky like I have with bright pink. This colour is Barry M but you can find similar almost everywhere!

2. Then you need to choose another contrasting colour so it will stand out over the base layer. I've used a silver metallic nail varnish by Revlon, and there are also similar in any beauty shop. Just dab the end of the brush creating small dots all over your nails, but keeping them enough separate so you can add an outline later.

3. Then begin adding a black outline around the dots, ensuring you keep them tidy. Experiment with different sizes and shapes and you could even do a few of your own spots in the corner where there isn't a dot. I've created these with liquid fast stroke eyeliner from Collection 2000 which is like a small pen which makes it easy to control.

4. Finish by painting a clear layer over the top which not only makes them look shiny and brand new, but ensures the eyeliner doesn't rub off and protects your lovely new nails.

Hope you guys found this helpful, I will definitely do a few more similar nail posts in the future!

What my morning consisted of: Glamour and granola

So today I wasn't feeling my best and decided to stay home. I woke up quite early and thought I'd make a post on what I started the day out with. I'm subscribed to Glamour magazine and have so been for a while now and I must say I am addicted! They always give the best style and beauty tips combined with real life stories and amazing free samples! I am also addicted to my yogurt, fruit and granola pots I make at home and thought I'd share with you how I make them in my next post so keep an eye out!
So first I'll start out with my top 5 favourite looks from this months issue featuring Lea Michele.

1. This pastel perfect outfit reminds me of a few bloggers this month and I love the checked pattern of the coat. Definitely being used as inspiration for the start of my spring closet!

2. Another pastel palette outfit mixing light blue and yellow together to create the perfect sweetheart outfit. This outfit is cute and on trend, inspiring me towards a pastel boxy top which are around everywhere!

3. This vibrant mix of bright colours and patterns reminds me of my current fashion project which is inspired heavily by Peter Pilotto. I love the floral patterns of this top going into the start of spring.

4. Simple and chic are words to describe this outfit with the combination of the classic white blouse mixed with the busy tropical pattern of the skirt. This outfit stands out but is suitable for almost any occasion.

5. Finally I thought I'd show the perfect example of a beauty feature in Glamour. This bold mix of paint inspired eyeshadow would look amazing on the runway mixed with bold colours and patterns.

I think this post just mixed up my blog a little bit and I'll be looking for ideas to do similar but different posts in the future.

One dress, two ways - Pretty in pink

So this is the second part of my 'one dress, two ways' posts and I've decided to dress this outfit up a bit by adding one of my favourite statement pieces: pink boxy jacket. This jacket fits any style and looks effortless. The notch neck detail and boxy style suits almost everything and despite it not being fitted, I feel it flatters me so well. The colour is also so lovely and brightens up a dull day like it was when I took these photos! I've found this dress works perfectly with many other styles, but this outfit and my more casual previous one were my favourite!
I've added a gorgeous statement necklace from my lovely work, Wallis. We do so many lovely statement necklaces and I just felt this made the outfit. I also wore my ankle strap shoes from New Look and my black clutch from Peacocks, as featured previously.

Jacket - Missguided (similar here and here)
