So today's post is a little different to my usual posts because as you may have noticed, I have dyed my hair brunette recently, and said I would post which dye I used and what I thought of it. The reason for this is from personal experience I have found reviews from retail sites unreliable or not very detailed and I'm always struggling with what brand to use so I thought I would voice my thoughts on this particular dye with is the L'Oreal Paris Excell 10 range in Spiced Chocolate 435. You can purchase it
here.
I'm really sorry I didn't take any other photos of it! I wasn't sure if I was going to post it at the time so this is the best I have unfortunately...
Now this dye is designed to develop in 10 minutes, and I can assure you it took no longer! It goes onto wet hair so I was more aware of it developing as my whole head was covered haha! The applicator is a comb which made it much easier to get through wet hair, and to section off my hair. That's something I haven't used before and it was much easier than just using your hands. After applying the product to my roots for 5 minutes, I just applied the rest and waited another 5 minutes then washed it all out and used the conditioner. This was so much quicker than products which have taken up to 30 minutes in the past, and I felt the dye had really worked.
The conditioner made my hair so soft and smell amazing. I would mention this hair dye has ammonia in but the smell wasn't strong at all as I have used other dyes with ammonia in and they usually smell the whole bathroom out! So overall very very pleased with this product..you can see in my last two posts the final colour! In some lights it has a touch of red in it which I love!
Moving onto the other beauty treats I picked up when in Boots...I bought these Barry M nail polishes from their new aquarium collection which features some gorgeous sparkly colours, perfect for summer! These are colours Arabian and Mediterranean. You can purchase them
here.
This is the colour Mediterranean on my nails.
Back to hair....So when I started dying my hair, obviously my hair became more damaged, so I needed products that would protect it from further heat damage and possibly repair any previous damage. So I turned to Tresemme and the first is the heat defence spray which I use on towel-dried hair using just a few sprays on the ends, and this protects any heat damage from the hair dryer. Although it is recommended for damp hair, I do sometimes use a bit just before I'm straightening or curling my hair. The second product is the Split Remedy. This is like a creamy liquid also designed to be used on damp hair, although the bottle does say you can use a small amount on dry hair. This leaves my hair feeling as if I've just come out the salon, it's always so soft and shiny and at the same time it's repairing your split ends!
Moving onto VO5...I am such a fan of their new product range, I love the packaging and the huge variety of products for all hair types.
Now I'm not normally a fan of hairspray as it always used to leave my hair all stuck together, but VO5 advertises on the bottle that it leaves your hair soft to the touch, and I can't fault it. Its very thin and therefore isn't heavy on your hair, I can't recommend it enough. My most recent purchase is the 'cherish my colour' full body spray which I was instantly attracted to as I was buying hair dye at the same time. I spray this onto damp hair as its meant to boost your volume, protect against heat and protect your hair colour! It's like 3 products in 1 which is fab. My last VO5 favourite is the 'give me texture' spray. Its designed for dry hair and to be sprayed all over your hair to add texture and waves to your hair. I don't actually use it for this purpose, I spray it at the roots of my hair for that extra volume as my hair is naturally straight and likes to stay that way!
I also love the VO5 shampoos and conditioners, although not photographed on this post they definitely need a mention.
So I hope you found this post/review useful, I might be doing a few more in the future to change things up a bit!
P.S I bought all of these products myself and my opinions are completely my own.
