New York boutique

I've gotta say I'm not usually one for a baggy top and shorts but I've seen so many other people do it and just look so casual/chic so I thought I'd try it out with this cute tee from River Island and my vintage Levi shorts. You can get these shorts online or from any vintage shop, I got mine from my local one but generally they're sold anywhere around summer.

So this is a more laid back summer look with the Topshop skaters which are everywhere at the moment. Asos have also done them to reinvent the Celine skate shoes but cheaper, and they have done so well in re-creating such similar ones. Also if anyone's wandering, my bag is actually from a boutique in Bulgaria from when I was on holiday there last year, and my sunglasses are actually Primark! I was v impressed,

April lusting...

So as an online shopaholic I am constantly looking at what's on Asos, Missguided, Boohoo etc and I've recently found a number of summer coats, but this pale pink oversized trench has got to be my favourite. I mean its a pink trench...what's not to love?!

Unfortunately it is £189 which is why it's a lust, and not my most recent buy. You can find it here. Also if you're not willing to spend almost £200 like me, Missguided do a cheaper alternative here.
Also this is a different style of post from my usual but I was thinking of either doing a weekly lust or monthly...we'll see how that goes though!

Summer whites

I must say a pair of sunglasses are definitely my summer accessory at the moment so I just couldn't resist making this outfit seem a little more summery with my favourite pair.

This gorgeous white skirt and printed blouse are Topshop specials and I am loving their summery prints this year. This loose-style blouse fits in so well with the weather at the moment and is so light-weight so it will be perfect when it gets a little hotter. Mini skirts are also one of my fave things and I love the slight pattern on this white skirt, only Topshop would pull this style off! Keeping with the Topshop theme, I absolutely love these flats. I'm so picky with flat shoes but these are so comfy and the gold detail keeps them current.

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter and are enjoying the weather as much as me!

A few of my favourite products

So today's post is a little different to my usual posts because as you may have noticed, I have dyed my hair brunette recently, and said I would post which dye I used and what I thought of it. The reason for this is from personal experience I have found reviews from retail sites unreliable or not very detailed and I'm always struggling with what brand to use so I thought I would voice my thoughts on this particular dye with is the L'Oreal Paris Excell 10 range in Spiced Chocolate 435. You can purchase it here.
I'm really sorry I didn't take any other photos of it! I wasn't sure if I was going to post it at the time so this is the best I have unfortunately...

Now this dye is designed to develop in 10 minutes, and I can assure you it took no longer! It goes onto wet hair so I was more aware of it developing as my whole head was covered haha! The applicator is a comb which made it much easier to get through wet hair, and to section off my hair. That's something I haven't used before and it was much easier than just using your hands. After applying the product to my roots for 5 minutes, I just applied the rest and waited another 5 minutes then washed it all out and used the conditioner. This was so much quicker than products which have taken up to 30 minutes in the past, and I felt the dye had really worked.
The conditioner made my hair so soft and smell amazing. I would mention this hair dye has ammonia in but the smell wasn't strong at all as I have used other dyes with ammonia in and they usually smell the whole bathroom out! So overall very very pleased with this product..you can see in my last two posts the final colour! In some lights it has a touch of red in it which I love!

Moving onto the other beauty treats I picked up when in Boots...I bought these Barry M nail polishes from their new aquarium collection which features some gorgeous sparkly colours, perfect for summer! These are colours Arabian and Mediterranean. You can purchase them here.

This is the colour Mediterranean on my nails.

Back to hair....So when I started dying my hair, obviously my hair became more damaged, so I needed products that would protect it from further heat damage and possibly repair any previous damage. So I turned to Tresemme and the first is the heat defence spray which I use on towel-dried hair using just a few sprays on the ends, and this protects any heat damage from the hair dryer. Although it is recommended for damp hair, I do sometimes use a bit just before I'm straightening or curling my hair. The second product is the Split Remedy. This is like a creamy liquid also designed to be used on damp hair, although the bottle does say you can use a small amount on dry hair. This leaves my hair feeling as if I've just come out the salon, it's always so soft and shiny and at the same time it's repairing your split ends!

Moving onto VO5...I am such a fan of their new product range, I love the packaging and the huge variety of products for all hair types.
Now I'm not normally a fan of hairspray as it always used to leave my hair all stuck together, but VO5 advertises on the bottle that it leaves your hair soft to the touch, and I can't fault it. Its very thin and therefore isn't heavy on your hair, I can't recommend it enough. My most recent purchase is the 'cherish my colour' full body spray which I was instantly attracted to as I was buying hair dye at the same time. I spray this onto damp hair as its meant to boost your volume, protect against heat and protect your hair colour! It's like 3 products in 1 which is fab. My last VO5 favourite is the 'give me texture' spray. Its designed for dry hair and to be sprayed all over your hair to add texture and waves to your hair. I don't actually use it for this purpose, I spray it at the roots of my hair for that extra volume as my hair is naturally straight and likes to stay that way!
I also love the VO5 shampoos and conditioners, although not photographed on this post they definitely need a mention.

So I hope you found this post/review useful, I might be doing a few more in the future to change things up a bit!
P.S I bought all of these products myself and my opinions are completely my own.

The leather trousers

I'm sorry I can't stop posting this biker jacket, it just goes with every outfit and style, and I've tried a more biker chick style today, I think it worked well!

So today I'm wearing the coolest trousers ever....they're faux leather and in a jogger style and I love them! I'm seeing them everywhere at the moment, everyone's done their own take on them and I especially liked the more fitted style for Nicole X Missguided range. These ones are from H&M and are just so easy to wear, and they are much cheaper (around £15) than many other styles I've seen. I paired the trousers with last summer's Topshop crop top as crop tops are definitely being brought back in, its just not hot enough for me to invest in some new ones yet.

The blazer of my dreams

So today I woke up and it was lovely and sunny so I had to get out and blog this gorgeous blazer from Mango. It's a double breasted open style and is just about as classy as you can get. Being Mango you expect high quality, and this blazer does not disappoint as the material is so thick and even down to the details of the buttons, you can tell this is a well made product.

I have styled it in a monochrome outfit with the splash of colour in my cobalt blue court shoes. This top is the definition of a spring print and is one of my favourites from Dorothy Perkins. I must also say this is made out of high quality material as well, I love it! I have been obsessed with faux leather this year, along with everybody else and when I saw this skirt in H&M for £15 I had to have it. I've seen so many faux leather/leather skirts around for so much more money and I thought this skirt is just as nice for more than half the price. My lovely shoes are Topshop specials and I have mainly styled them with similar monochrome outfits and it just looks so chic.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun as much as me!

You may also notice I am now a brunette! I have gone to the dark side (ha ha ha) and will post which dye I used and do a lil review to let you guys know whether I liked it or not!

Skinny black jeans & biker jacket

So today's post is the second outfit featuring my pink biker jacket. I've simplified this outfit with no patterns and other colours which made the jacket stand out, and contrast from my previous post.

These monochrome boots are still one of my favourite pairs and I decided to match them with black jeans, a white boxy top and statement belt. This is such a relaxed and easy look for day to day, and my monochrome Fiorelli bag just goes perfectly. My jeans are from Wallis where I work, and my top was a £10 bargain in the Topshop sale (yes I couldn't believe it either!!). I've always admired the loose boxy styled tops on other people but never actually bought one myself as I wasn't sure if they'd suit my but this top is a nice thick material and goes with everything. My belt is Newlook and just adds a bit of detail to a plain pair of jeans, my necklace is also New Look and my earrings Topshop, but a while ago.

The colours of spring...

Despite promising to post more often, I haven't been able to as I've been so busy and my photos didn't seem to want to upload every time I had a spare hour to focus on them! Oh well, here's my latest spring outfit to show you anyway as I've recently been purchasing so much as the weather's been getting better and these trousers, top, jacket and jewelry form my most recent buys!

So I've been looking for a pale pastel coloured biker jacket for a while and there are a few pink, blue, green ones about (Dorothy Perkins especially) but I saw this one in the shop and instantly fell in love. I like how subtle the pink is, so it goes with many more things than you would expect. So as I love this jacket so much I thought I would do a two ways to wear feature, and this is the first outfit to show you guys. The second outfit will be up very soon.

Secondly these trousers were such a bargain from H&M and just perfect for spring, as they still keep you warm but have the colour and pattern to fit with the season. My necklace was also from H&M and is the perfect colour for this outfit. Finally this blouse was in the Topshop sale for £18!! I've wanted it for ages and I'm so glad I waited now!
